PRP Rejuvenation Therapy

What is PRP lifting? (Platelet Rich Plasma)

PRP or rejuvenation with one’s own blood plasma, also known as “vampire lifting”, is a method that involves the application of growth factors and stem cells from one’s own blood (blood plasma), in order to rejuvenate and regenerate the skin. Stem cells help create new collagen and blood vessels, regenerate and improve damaged skin, and slow down, alleviate and reverse the signs of aging.

Effects of PRP lifting

With the help of this procedure, the regeneration and recovery of facial tissue is naturally stimulated, wrinkles are alleviated and skin tone is improved. The skin gets more oxygen, nutrients and better hydration. Collagen production occurs which repairs the structure of the skin which becomes smooth, elastic and taut. The effect of each subsequent treatment gives longer and more visible results.

Who is it suited for?

PRP treatment is intended for people who have pronounced wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and / or around the mouth. PRP stem cell rejuvenation therapy can also be used by people who have acne scars, as well as to rejuvenate the skin on the hands and other parts of the body.

Preparation

Before beginning the procedure, it is necessary to take off the make-up and clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanić. Your doctor will also tell you in which cases PRP treatment is not recommended.

The Procedure

PRP stem cell rejuvenation therapy is a method in which the doctor uses a minimal amount of your own blood to rejuvenate the skin. Your doctor will take the cells and proteins in your blood and inject them back into your skin, speeding up the regeneration of your skin and subcutaneous tissue. At no time does the blood come into contact with the air from the outside environment. Before the treatment, the doctor takes 10-20 ml of blood. Plasma is separated from other blood elements by centrifugation – it is the only one taken for rejuvenation treatment. The injection process takes about 15 minutes and uses very thin micro-needles, which makes this procedure extremely painless. Depending on the effect you want to achieve, plasma is injected superficially or deeply. The first results are visible after the first treatment, but based on experience, 3 treatments at 6-week intervals are recommended. The procedure can be repeated after 12 months.

Complications

As your own blood is used during this procedure and no synthetic materials are ingested, the possibility of complications is minimized. The treatment is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Immediately after the treatment, redness and swelling may occur, which recedes after a few hours.

Recovery

The procedure does not require hospitalization, i.e. the patient can go home immediately after the treatment, and after 2 hours can return to daily activities. A few weeks after the treatment, there is a visible improvement in the moisture, structure and tone of the skin. After three to six weeks, the development of new collagen and blood vessels begins, after 3 months, the lines and wrinkles disappear. The effects of PRP lifting can last between one and two years, depending on the condition of the skin.

A Combination of PRP and Hyaluronic Acid

Dr. Igor Smiljanić is an international instructor for the PuraPlast treatment (Prollenium, Toronto)

Combination of PRP (rejuvenation with your own plasma, Plazmalifting, ``vampire lifting``) and hyaluron

This combination, in one procedure, allows us to discover new possibilities of aesthetic corrections, in which Plasmalifting leads to skin rejuvenation and regeneration, and hyaluronic removes surface wrinkles and restores volume to the face.

PRP (Plasmalifting, “vampire lifting”) acts deep on the skin, starting the natural processes of rejuvenation and regeneration, which leads to a significant improvement in its condition. PRP treatment acts on the skin from the inside by slowing down the aging processes of the skin, rejuvenates and nourishes the cells, fights acne, scars, freckles, wrinkles, sagging and dry skin. On the other hand, hyaluronic acid is one of the main ingredients of the skin, which gives it firmness, elasticity and a youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid has an extremely high water binding power. Over the years, its amount gradually decreases, the skin becomes inelastic and begins to relax. By adding a certain dose of hyaluronic acid to the blood plasma, it is possible to correct certain skin imperfections (wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the lips, on the chin, under the eyelids) and add volume, and as a result we have taut, elastic and healthy facial skin.

Effects of PRP and hyaluronic acid treatment:

With the help of this procedure, the regeneration and recovery of facial tissues is naturally stimulated, wrinkles are alleviated, skin tone is improved and volume is added to the face. The skin gets more oxygen, nutrients and better hydration. Collagen production occurs which repairs the structure of the skin which becomes smooth, elastic and taut. The effect of each subsequent treatment gives longer and more visible results.

Who is it suited for?

The combination of Plasmalifting and hyaluronic acid methods is intended for people who have pronounced wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and / or around the mouth and sagging facial skin.

Preparation

Before applying the procedure, it is necessary to take off the make-up and clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanić. Your doctor will also tell you in which cases PRP treatment is not recommended.

Procedure

Treatment involves PRP stem cell rejuvenation therapy in which the doctor uses a minimal amount of your own blood to rejuvenate the skin. The doctor takes your cells and proteins, which are in the blood, mixes them with a certain dose of hyaluronic acid and injects them back into the skin, accelerating the renewal of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. At no time does the blood come into contact with the air from the outside environment. Before the treatment, the doctor takes 10-20 ml of blood. Plasma is separated from other blood elements by centrifugation – it is the only one taken for rejuvenation treatment. Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic system

The lymphatic system is an auxiliary pathway through which fluid from the intercellular space returns to the bloodstream. It is one of the main routes for the absorption and transport of fat from the digestive tract. After a high-fat meal, the lymph may contain 1-2% fat. It is part of the body’s immune system and has an important defensive role – it protects against infection. Bacteria, viruses and other pathogenic particles reach the lymphatic system easily and are destroyed in the lymph nodes.
Lymph is a colorless fluid, rich in proteins and lymphocytes, it has the same composition as the intercellular fluid of the tissue in which it is formed, enables drainage, replenishes the bloodstream, and affects the movement of water. The function of the lymph is to nourish the tissue on the one hand and to accept and eliminate metabolic products of cell decomposition and other harmful substances on the other – it performs tissue detoxification (reabsorption of fluid into venous capillaries). Fluid retention in the intercellular space impedes the flow of lymph through the lymph vessels, which slows down the delivery of nutrients to the cells and metabolic processes in them.

Lymphedema

Lymphedema is a swelling of a part of the body, usually the leg or arm, caused by excessive lymph retention. Although it is a chronic and progressive condition, it can be successfully affected by lymphatic drainage.
The movement of lymph can be negatively affected by external factors such as:

  • Reduced movement
  • Uneven muscle load in a certain region of the body
  • Stressful situations
  • Physical overload
Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is one of the very effective techniques for detoxifying the body and tissue regeneration. It unblocks lymph channels and blood vessels, which leads to the natural flow of lymph from the peripheral parts of the body, so that there is a reduction in swelling and pain caused by excessive amounts of lymph and metabolites in the body. It has a beneficial effect on the nervous, muscular and immune systems. The regenerating effects of lymphatic drainage are not limited only to the tissue we drain, but also to deep tissues, e.g. in osteoporosis and stiff joints.

Advantages of lymphatic drainage:
  • Clinically proven therapeutic method
  • Instant, visible results
  • The treatment is well accepted by patients and clients
  • The body is not burdened with unnecessary treatment
  • The most common indications for lymphatic drainage therapy
Medical:
  • Chronic edema
  • Post-operative lymphatic duct obstruction
  • Prevention and treatment of varicose veins (varicose veins)
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (before and after surgery)
  • Reynolds syndrome
  • Neuropathy, Neuralgia
  • Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Gout
  • Tenalgia (?) – “tennis elbow”, “jumping knee”
  • Wellness and aesthetics
  • Cellulite – reduction, fat absorption
  • Care after liposuction
  • Tissue regeneration – burns, scars
  • Detoxification of the organism
  • Heavy foot syndrome
  • Obesity
  • Improving skin nutrition
  • Body shaping – stretched skin
  • Anti-aging effect
Lymphatic drainage after breast surgery

After all surgical interventions and the appearance of edema (swelling), lymphatic drainage should be performed, especially in patients who had breast surgery after cancer, because their lymph nodes in the armpit area are removed, which prevents the return of lymph to the bloodstream. It accumulates in the space between the tissues in the first days after the operation. If that amount is higher, the needle is punctured while the woman is still in the hospital. As new lymphatic pathways are established only after two or three months, the subsequent appearance of lymphedema is possible.

If lymphedema is not treated, the circumference of the arm increases, which leads to a decrease in the mobility of the shoulder, elbow and hand joints. It also increases the weight of the arm and changes its shape. Lymphatic drainage, above all, prevents the occurrence of permanent consequences in the form of limited hand mobility, ie physical and work incapacity. At the moment, a reduction or complete cessation of pain, swelling, feelings of discomfort is achieved…

Mesocogs Threads

Non-surgical thread treatments are minimally invasive aesthetic procedures that involve tightening and lifting various parts of the face, using specially designed sutures (threads), without the use of surgical incisions.

Preparation for the surgery

It is necessary to come to the intervention without makeup. The procedure is fast and safe (no allergic reactions, no major complications) and can be successfully combined with other non-invasive methods of rejuvenation: fillers, Botox, PRP.

Procedure

Local anesthesia is given at the places where you will enter with cannulas, where the threads are. The cannula, which is blunt at the top and does not cut the blood vessels under the skin, runs in the desired direction in the length of 6 or 9 cm. The cannula is passed in a layer under the skin and it is a layer that is painless. Then the cannula is pulled out and the thread remains in the tissue and is tied with its multidirectional small spines, and by pulling them, a tightening effect is obtained.

Complications

Active inflammatory processes on the face and the use of anticoagulants at the time of intervention. If anticoagulants (Aspirin, Andol, etc.) are taken regularly, they should be stopped 10 days before the intervention. Poor candidates are with very sagging skin or with a lot of subcutaneous fat or patients with very thin skin.

Recovery

After the intervention, adhesive tapes are placed, which are better for the skin and are worn for about three days. During this time, excessive facial expressions should be avoided so that the threads do not bind to the tissue as well as possible. After removing the tape, smaller wrinkles are possible on the skin along the pulling of the thread, and they will be pulled off in the next few days. The effect can last from 12 to 24 months.

Hyaluronic Fillers

What are hyaluronic fillers?

Fillers are substances that are inserted into or under the skin to correct its defects. In the past, collagen and silicone were most commonly used. Over time, their use has been reduced and fillers based on hyaluronic acid are most often used. Hyaluronic acid is one of the main ingredients of the skin, which gives it firmness, elasticity and a youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid has an extremely high water binding power. Over the years, its amount gradually decreases, the skin becomes inelastic and begins to relax.

Filler effects:

Hyaluronic fillers can be used to repair certain defects of the facial skin (wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the lips, on the chin, under the eyelids), but also on the skin of the neck, décolleté and hands. With the help of fillers, it is possible to correct the shape of the cheekbones and nose, as well as increase the volume of the lips. Lifting with the help of hyaluronic fillers is preferably maintained by occasional addition. In that way, the development of new connective tissue is encouraged and the decomposition of the existing hyaluronic acid in the skin is prevented, which additionally affects the appearance of the skin. Also, this property allows the effect of each subsequent treatment to give longer and more visible results. Hyaluronic fillers do not endanger the naturalness of the face and facial expressions. The effect achieved largely depends on the expertise and experience of the person performing the treatment.

Who is it for?

It is intended for people who have pronounced wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the lips, on the chin, visible under-eye circles, as well as for people who want to increase the volume of the lips (lip augmentation) and correct facial contours. Hyaluronic fillers are most often used to fill already formed wrinkles, although they are now also used by people over the age of 25, as a prevention of wrinkles.

Preparation

Before applying the procedure, it is necessary to take off the make-up and clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanić.

Procedure

The filler injection procedure takes 15 to 30 minutes and does not require hospitalization. The procedure is painless, very thin micro-needles are used with which fillers are injected directly into the skin. The client can at any time, if he wishes, look at the effect of what has been done.

Complications

Swelling and / or bruising may occur at the injection site, which passes after a few days. An allergic reaction is very rare. After the filler treatment, it is recommended to avoid the sauna, sun exposure, tanning bed, as well as pressing the part of the face that has been treated.

Recovery

The filler injection procedure does not require hospitalization, i.e. the patient can go home immediately after the treatment, and after 2 hours he can return to daily activities.

Botox

What is Botox?

Botulinum toxin better known as Botox is a biological toxin that is mostly used to correct and stop the appearance of wrinkles on the face. Botox treatment is a non-invasive, non-surgical intervention during which an individually adjusted dose of Botox is injected into certain facial muscles and thus, muscle activity is prevented, which is the main cause of facial wrinkles.

Botox effects:

Removes horizontal wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows (frown wrinkles), wrinkles around the eyes and above the upper lip, as well as bumps on the chin. The effect of Botox application lasts for about six months, after which the muscle completely recovers. After that, the treatment can be repeated indefinitely, without any contraindications.

Who is it for?

It is intended for people who have pronounced dynamic (when moving or mimicking the face) and static (at rest) wrinkles of the forehead and the region between the eyebrows, wrinkles around the eyes and small asymmetries of the face.

Preparation

You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation at the Smiljanić Polyclinic.

Procedure

The Botox injection procedure takes about 10 minutes and does not require hospitalization. The procedure is painless, very thin micro-needles are used with which Botox is injected directly into the muscles. Botox injections are not injected into the eyebrow lifting muscle, so the person retains a completely natural facial expression, with normal facial movements.

Complications

Swelling and / or bruising may occur at the injection site, which passes after a few days. During the first treatment, there is a possibility of mild transient headache or nausea. In a very small number of cases, there may be a slight relaxation of the eyebrow or eyelid, which recedes after 2-4 weeks.

Recovery

The Botox injection procedure does not require hospitalization, i.e. the patient can go home immediately after the treatment, and after 2 hours he can return to daily activities.

Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy?

Facial mesotherapy or mesolifting is a modern method of rejuvenating the skin of the face, neck, cleavage and hands. It consists of injecting various cocktails that contain vitamins, amino acids, hyaluronic acid, etc. in the middle layer of the skin – the dermis, where otherwise the necessary substances cannot reach otherwise. In this way, the tone and elasticity of the skin is improved, it enables hydration and tightening, which prevents the appearance of new wrinkles and slows down the aging process.

Effects of Mesotherapy

The effect of Mesotherapy is the regeneration and revitalization of tired, dehydrated, damaged skin, which becomes radiant and elastic and returns to its youthful freshness and healthy appearance. The treatment improves hydration, evens out the complexion, improves the texture and smoothes fine wrinkles. The effect is immediately visible, so it is recommended immediately before important events – weddings, graduation anniversaries and the like. Although the effects are visible after 3 to 4 treatments, for a long-lasting effect, it is necessary to do 6 to 10 treatments, and then maintain the condition monthly.

Who is it suited for:

Mesotherapy can be used by people in their late twenties, for the purpose of facial rejuvenation and prevention of aging. Mesotherapy has good effects in people with dry skin, people who have signs of aging caused by sun exposure, pronounced dark circles, as well as people with more mature skin.

Preparation

Before applying the procedure, it is necessary to take off the make-up and clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanic.

Procedure

The treatment consists of injecting the active ingredients, surface injections with the help of the thinnest needle, evenly on the skin. At each injection, a minimal amount of ingredients is injected into the skin. In people with pronounced signs of skin aging, it is necessary to intensify the procedure in order to achieve the desired effect, and it gives the best results in combination with other methods (chemical peeling, hyaluronic fillers, Botox). The treatment lasts about 15 minutes.

Complications

No signs of irritation are visible after treatment. Sometimes redness appears after treatment that goes away after a couple of hours. Allergic reactions are very rare.

Recovery

Mesotherapy treatment does not require hospitalization, ie the patient can go home immediately after the treatment and can return to daily activities immediately. Sun exposure is not recommended, as well as going to the solarium after mesotherapy.

Mesonites

What are Mesonites?

Mesonites are a method that uses specially designed degradable fibers, which are inserted under the skin via a thin micro-needle, and serves to lift, rejuvenate and tighten the skin. They are also used to shape faces. Mesonites stimulate the production of new collagen and increase blood circulation to the skin, which additionally affects the appearance of the skin.

Effects of mesonite treatment:

The effect of the treatment is efficient, non-operative lifting of the upper, middle and lower thirds of the face. Successfully solves problems such as dynamic forehead wrinkles and regions between the eyebrows, eye wrinkles, etc. Mesonites are also used to improve skin tone and remove excess skin on the hands, inner thighs, abdomen (after childbirth). Mesonites can be applied in the area of the forehead, eyebrows, around the eyes, cheekbones, cheeks, as well as to tighten the skin of the underbelly, neck, cleavage, upper arms, abdomen and inner thighs. Although the initial effects are visible immediately, the real look is obtained 2 months after the treatment, when new collagen is created around the thread. The lifting effect is permanent for the next 2 years, when the treatment is repeated.

Who is it suited for:

Mesonite treatment is recommended for people who want to maintain a natural look and do not want to undergo a surgical facelift. The method is suitable for both sexes, and the recommended age is, depending on the condition of the skin, on average 35-65 years. Mesonites are a good solution for people who have pronounced dynamic wrinkles on the forehead and the region between the eyebrows, wrinkles around the eyes, relaxed skin of the hands, underbelly, neck, cleavage, upper arms, abdomen, inner thighs.

Preparation

Before applying the procedure, it is necessary to take off the make-up and clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanic.

Procedure

The treatment involves inserting 3D mesonite under the skin, using a thin micro-needle, where a network of threads is made, on which the organism itself creates new collagen. The mesonites are located at the tip of the needle. After inserting the needle, the thread remains under the skin and the needle is removed. The threads are made of biodegradable material, they completely disappear from the skin in about 6 months. Their strength and the possibility of placing in several directions, allows them to blend harmoniously into the tissue and not affect the natural facial expressions.

Complications

No signs of irritation are visible after treatment. Sometimes redness appears after treatment that goes away after a couple of hours. Allergic reactions are very rare.

Recovery

Treatment with mesonites does not require hospitalization, ie the patient can go home immediately after the treatment and after a few hours can return to daily activities. The use of mesonite does not limit facial expressions, nor everyday life, but also the application of other aesthetic methods. Sun exposure or going to the solarium after treatment with mesonites is not recommended.

Dermorollers

Dermoroller treatment

is a non-invasive method of removing the surface layer of the skin, ie. extinct cells. It is one of the basic procedures for improving skin texture. This procedure is often combined with other procedures, for example mesotherapy or PRP method (rejuvenation with one’s own plasma), because it enables better absorption of the preparation into the skin.

Effects:

Reduces / removes freckles, small wrinkles and shallower scars. It reduces enlarged pores and stimulates the formation of new collagen. Improves skin tone and texture. The result is smooth, taut, firmer skin.

Who is it for:

Dermoroller treatment is intended for those who want to reduce freckles, scars, small wrinkles, enlarged pores, even out the complexion and improve the condition of the skin.

Preparation

Before the procedure, it is important to clean the face well. You will receive a list of necessary tests at a consultation with Dr. Smiljanic. Dermoroller treatment is not recommended for people with hypersensitive skin.

Procedure

The procedure takes about 15-30 minutes and does not require hospitalization. The procedure is completely painless, the result is visible immediately after the treatment. The needles of a specially designed sterile dermaroller cause mechanical microdamages on the surface of the skin, which stimulates the tissue and starts regenerative processes of increased production of collagen and elastin. It can be applied to the skin of the face, neck and cleavage. On average, 4-6 treatments are done at intervals of 3 weeks, because that is the time it takes for the skin to regenerate.

Complications

In people with sensitive skin, they may experience discomfort and redness after treatment.

Recovery

The biggest advantage of this method is that there is no necessary recovery time from this treatment, so that the patient can perform his daily activities immediately after the treatment. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 48 hours. Also, it is desirable to avoid intense physical activity due to the sensitivity of the skin to sweat. In the period after the treatment, use hydrant creams, and avoid those that contain glycolic or lactic acid. It is advisable to avoid make-up on the first day after application.

Chemical Peeling

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical facial peeling is a medical treatment during which a trained doctor applies solutions of certain acids to the skin, with the goal of removing the damaged layer of the skin. The chemical peeling procedure enables the regeneration of the damaged layer with a new and healthier layer of the skin. Chemical peeling is sufficient as an independent treatment in the process of rejuvenation or to prepare the skin for other treatments, such as radiowave lifting and mesotherapy.

Effects of chemical peeling:

Less visibility and / or disappearance of acne, enlarged pores, facial hyperpigmentation, scars, superficial wrinkles. Improved skin appearance is achieved and contributes to the refreshed appearance of the treated skin.Less visibility and / or disappearance of acne, enlarged pores, facial hyperpigmentation, scars, superficial wrinkles. Improved skin appearance is achieved and contributes to the refreshed appearance of the treated skin.

Who is it suited for:

It is intended for people who have pronounced skin pigmentation, caused by the sun or other factors; acne and finer wrinkles, scars caused by acne or rough skin caused by sun damage or age.

Preparation

It is necessary to clean the face well before the treatment and not to apply face cream immediately before the treatment.

Procedure

Anesthesia is not necessary for chemical peels, because they cause only a slight tingling sensation during application. The solution is applied to the cleansed skin of the face and this process takes about 10 minutes. Often the patient has a burning sensation during the application of the solution, but that feeling soon passes.

The number of chemical peel treatments required depends on the problem, the region being treated, and the desired effects. Sometimes just one treatment is enough, and sometimes we perform them in series, at properly spaced time intervals.

Complications

Apart from transient redness and mild flaking of the skin, they do not have significant side effects if applied in a professional way. The most common contraindication to chemical peels is the appearance of pigmentation due to inadequate protection from the sun’s radiation during skin regeneration after the treatment.

Recovery

The use of moisturizer (or Panthenol cream) is recommended starting the day after the treatment. After chemical peeling, there is often a temporary redness and dryness of the skin for 2 days, after which the skin begins to flake, that is, the damaged layer of skin begins to peel off. The flaking of the skin stops after 2 days, when the person can return to regular activities. The importance of sun protection (avoiding sun exposure and, if exposed, use creams with a protection factor of 50+) should be borne in mind for a period of at least 4 weeks after treatment.
